Let's start with the reality of this role.
This is physical, hands-on work. If you're looking for a drop-and-hook, stay-in-the-cab driving role, this is not it.
Our drivers are actively involved in handling livestock, working outdoors in all seasons and have flexibility with start/end times.
We want to be transparent from the start, because this work isn’t easy and we believe drivers deserve to know exactly what they’re stepping into. It’s physical, hands‑on work, but for the right driver, it’s honest, steady, and meaningful.
What the role involves:
- Safely operating company tractors and livestock trailers
- Hands-on animal handling (loading, unloading)
- Working in rural locations, driving on gravel roads
- Typically using your full logbook in a day
- Communicating clearly with dispatch and customers
What we're looking for:
- A valid Class 1 license
- Comfortable with physical work and animal handling
- Safety-focused
- Livestock experience is an asset (but we'll train the right person!)
What we offer:
- 2 predictable schedule options to fit your lifestyle
- Regional work, no more than 2-4 nights away each week
- Starting pay around $65,000 with a minimum pay agreement for the first 6 months
- Increased earnings opportunity with experience - the majority of this fleet averaging $85,000-$100,000/year
- Quarterly safe driving bonus starting at 6-months
- Health, Dental & Vision Benefits at 3 months
At this time, this role is open to drivers who already have authorization to work in Canada. Unfortunately, we’re not able to support LMIA or RCIP applications for this position.
As a community leader and an industry leading employer, Steve's Livestock Transport is committed to establishing an inclusive workplace that values and promotes diversity. Consistent with our values, we create a supportive work environment that encourages everyone to reach their fullest potential.
