Certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic/Technician. Journeyman/Red Seal.
Under supervision by our Heavy Duty Mechanic Foreman, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostic work, equipment inspections, safety checks, hydraulic repairs, electrical repairs and testing on a wide variety of equipment. We have aerial lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, compressors, generators, welders, pumps, etc. Equipment ranges from gas/diesel/electric.
Ability to troubleshoot problems and read schematics, experience with hydraulic systems and electric/electronic systems.
Disassemble and reassemble components such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel and exhaust systems, brakes, clutches, differentials, hydraulics, electrical and lubrication systems.
Welding ticket or experience is an asset.
Work independently and able to work in and around heavy equipment, able to work at heights and confined spaces. Work can be physically demanding, good health is required.
Good communication skills and be able to pitch in and help your co-workers when needed.
Employ workplace health and safety at all times. Participate in training courses on or off site.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed and equipment serviced.
Valid BC Driver's License.
