We are hiring another full time installer. We are an Alberta based, family-owned business that specializes in the Sales and Installations of IP Based Video Surveillance Systems, Alarm Systems and Access Control Systems. Total Control Security has been serving Western Canada for the last 25 years. We use only professional, leading edge products, and we pride ourselves in quality workmanship and superior after sales service.
Job Summary: Customer satisfaction is our number one priority. We are looking for someone who has common sense, is honest, detail orientated and is a self –starter; as well as someone who is motivated, a quick learner and has a keen interest in solving technical problems. You must be able to maintain a safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal requirements. You must be able to develop and maintain clear customer rapport by listening to and resolving concerns and answering questions in a timely manner. You will be required to work independently and as a team member. Typical work week is 40 hours with some overtime depending on project scope.
Responsibilities and Duties:
● minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Security System Technician, Electronic Technician Certificate, Computer Networking Courses would be considered a definite asset.
● You must be able to use hand and power tools, multi-meters as well as test equipment.
● You must be computer literate with basic working knowledge of operating systems. Having any programming and networking abilities are an asset.
● Job specific technology training will be provided under the supervision of our experienced technicians.
● Courses in safety protection/prevention are an asset. We require our staff to be commited to upgrading and continuing their education.
● you must be able to climb a ladder, crouch, crawl, and lift heavy items on a regular basis, and you will be required to work at significant heights such as scissor lifts or roofs, and work in tight areas such as crawlspaces.
● You will be required to run low voltage cable and conduit for video surveillance, access control and alarm systems, terminate and test cables, install surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access equipment (routers, power supplies, network switches, and wireless bridges), program installed equipment and train the end users on their equipment.
● You will also be required to provide customer service such as repairs and system maintenance which may involve updates to firmware, software, and upgrades to current systems and or additional products. You may be required to complete a site survey prior to installation.
● Technicians work inside homes and businesses as well as outside which sometimes requires working in inclement or hot weather. Jobs vary and can be labor intensive. The job involves detailed work as well, you must be willing to learn and take direction.
● English language written and verbal skills are required. Interpersonal skills, telephone skills, organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure are essential
● You must be able to train customers in the use of the installed equipment in a clear and effective manner
Job Requirements: You will be required to provide a current and annual Criminal Record Check as well as a Valid Driver’s License and annual abstracts. All specialty tools will be provided. You will be required to supply your own steel-toed safety boots.
