Vision Hollow Metal is one of Canada's leading manufacturers of commercial steel doors and frames. We are looking for a technically minded Automation Equipment Technician to support our state-of-the-art Trumpf and Salvagnini manufacturing systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys machinery, automation and continuous learning. The successful candidate will begin by operating highly automated equipment and will be progressively trained in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, programming and system optimization.
What You'll Do
Initially you will learn to:
- Operate automated Trumpf and Salvagnini equipment safely and efficiently
- Load and unload material
- Monitor production quality
- Perform inspections
- Complete machine setup and changeovers
- Maintain production records
As your skills develop, you will receive training to:
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot machine issues
- Replace wear components
- Optimize production efficiency
- Program and modify machine operations
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with Engineering and Maintenance
What We're Looking For
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience operating CNC or automated manufacturing equipment
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Comfortable learning computer-based machine controls
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Detail-oriented
- Team player
- Manufacturing experience required
