We are looking for a dedicated and skilled 2nd or 3rd year 309A Electrical Apprentice with a history in commercial construction, including high-rise condos and townhouse builds. We are also active in single family laneway home builds, and sound/music studio builds, having built/renovated some of the largest and most prestigious studios in Canada. Responsibilities:
As an electrical apprentice, you will work under the supervision of a licensed journeyperson and be a key part of our construction team. Your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting in the installation of electrical wiring, power distribution systems, lighting, and fire alarm systems in new commercial and residential buildings (condos, townhouses, laneway suites).
* Reading and interpreting complex blueprints, electrical code specifications, and diagrams to plan wiring layouts for multi-story structures.
* Performing rough-in wiring for units, corridors, and common areas.
* Installing and bending conduit, as well as installing electrical boxes and light fixtures.
* Assisting with the installation of circuit breaker panels and other control and distribution equipment.
* Adhering to all safety protocols on construction sites, including working at heights (ladders, scissor lifts) and in various stages of construction.
* Maintaining a clean and organized work area and ensuring the proper use and care of company tools and equipment.
* Collaborating effectively with other trades and team members on site.
Qualifications:
* Currently registered as a 2nd or 3rd year 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrical Apprentice with Skilled Trades Ontario.
* Strong, verifiable experience in commercial electrical construction, particularly with condos, townhouses, or other multi-unit residential projects.
* Solid understanding of the Ontario Electrical Code.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
* Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with a positive attitude.
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites across the GTA.
* Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and working on your feet for extended periods.
* Completion of all required in-school training for your apprenticeship level.
* Current WMIS, Working at Heights, and Four Steps Certification.
Compensation & Benefits:
* Average Hourly Wage: Competitive wage ranging from $24 - $32 per hour, commensurate with your level of skill and experience.
