Overview
Customer Greeting & Support — Welcome customers, identify their needs, and guide them to the right products. • Order Entry & Processing — Create quotes, enter orders, print invoices, and handle returns or exchanges. • Phone & Email Coordination — Answer calls, schedule pickups, confirm deliveries, and respond to customer inquiries. • Product Information — Provide basic knowledge on lumber, hardware, concrete, tools, and other building materials. • Communication With Yard/Warehouse — Relay orders, confirm stock availability, and coordinate loading or delivery. • Cash Handling — Process payments, maintain accuracy, and follow store policies. • Issue Resolution — Troubleshoot order errors, delays, or product questions with professionalism.
Duties
- Greet visitors and clients in a courteous and professional manner
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and effectively, directing calls as needed
- Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate calendars using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records using QuickBooks and other office software
- Handle filing, record keeping, and document management with attention to detail
- Provide customer support by addressing inquiries via phone, email, or in person
- Assist with administrative tasks such as proofreading documents, managing correspondence, and supporting office operations
- Support bookkeeping activities including basic bookkeeping tasks related to billing or payments when necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to ensure a welcoming environment
Skills
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Google Workspace, and data entry applications
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar bookkeeping software is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities
- Clerical experience, including filing, data management, and administrative support
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally
- Attention to detail for proofreading documents and maintaining accurate records
- Previous experience in medical or dental office settings is advantageous but not required
- Strong typing skills with high accuracy and speed
