The right candidate will be client-centered, work independently yet will be a collaborative team member who contributes to the positive culture of the clinic. Furthermore, an individual who is motivated to learn new evidence based treatments in an integrative model, as well as work to support better health outcomes for their clients.
As an Occupational Therapist your role will be focused on optimizing clients participation in self-care, employment, leisure, social and community activities. A Strong candidate will have experience or interest in offering consultation, education and coaching for:
- mental well being
- child development and behavioural change
- neurodiversity and executive functioning
- health promotion, lifestyle intervention and resiliency building
- concussion management alongside PT, RMT and body movement.
A collaborative mindset is an asset as the OT will be an integral part of existing programming. Leadership qualities are an asset in building networks, client programs, and shared learning.
HEC is for people struggling with mental health and healthcare issues who need quality integrated care from multiple practitioners. We are dedicated to providing timely access in a community setting to individual and family needs through structured programs. An Occupational Therapist within this setting will be able to connect with community partners, resources and services to best support clients throughout their journey with HEC and transition to discharge or to a maintenance phase of care.
The basic elements of our streamlined programs are:
- Timely access to treatment
- Structured mild, moderate, and acute outpatient programs designed to provide individualized care
- Community and professional workshops to inform and equip clients and practitioners
- Regional access to an integrated multi-disciplinary and allied health professional team

Experience:
- 3+ years (Preferred) experience
- Providing individual and group based therapy
- Motivational Interviewing or coaching experience is an asset
Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC
- Professional Liability Insurance
- Eagerness to work collaboratively within an integrated team model
Job Types: Part-time, Full-time
Pay: $75.00-$95.00 per hour
