Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to support our busy restaurant kitchen. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient food service environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and a strong understanding of food safety standards. Prior restaurant experience, especially in food handling and meal preparation, is a plus but not required. Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure cleanliness and readiness for use
- Assist with basic meal preparation and food handling tasks as directed by kitchen staff
- Support food service operations by maintaining a clean work environment
- Help with food prep activities such as chopping, assembling ingredients, or portioning meals when needed
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, workstations, and equipment throughout shifts
- Assist in organizing storage areas for supplies and ingredients
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support kitchen staff as needed
- Basic cooking skills or familiarity with meal preparation are advantageous
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds when necessary
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or evenings if required
