Position Overview:
We’re looking for a hands-on, creative Marketing Coordinator to support our marketing efforts on a part-time, contract basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of strategy and execution from social media and events to in-store promotions and local marketing initiatives.
You’ll work closely with the business owner to increase brand awareness, drive foot traffic, and support seasonal campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute local marketing campaigns to promote products, sales, and events
- Manage and grow social media channels (content creation, posting, engagement)
- Create marketing materials (flyers, email campaigns, in-store signage)
- Coordinate participation in community events (e.g., farmers markets, local shows)
- Support promotions, contests, and brand awareness initiatives
- Maintain and update website content and product highlights
- Assist with email marketing and customer communications
- Track basic marketing performance metrics and provide recommendations
- Collaborate on seasonal campaigns (spring/summer peak periods especially)
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of marketing experience (or relevant education + hands-on experience)
- Strong content creation skills across social, email, and promotional materials
- Experience with Canva or similar tools to create visually engaging marketing content
- Comfortable using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to support content creation, research, and campaign development
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in local, retail, or small business marketing is considered an asset
Work Arrangement
- Part-time contract (approx. 20 hours per week, flexible)
- Hybrid: some in-store presence required for content capture, promotions, and events
