Overview
We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Equipment Operator specializing in Skidsteer and Asphalt Spreader operations to join our construction team. This role involves operating heavy machinery to assist in paving projects, ensuring efficient and high-quality asphalt installation. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with construction equipment, and a focus on safety and precision in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate skidsteer loaders, asphalt spreaders, and other related heavy equipment to facilitate paving operations.
- Prepare and set up equipment for daily tasks, including loading, leveling, and spreading asphalt materials.
- Assist with site preparation, including grading and concrete forming as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on machinery to ensure optimal operation.
- Collaborate with team members to execute paving projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Support excavation activities using excavators or loaders when required.
- Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations throughout the project duration.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as skidsteers, loaders, excavators, and asphalt spreaders.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
- Background in construction, paving, concrete forming, or related fields is preferred.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus for transporting equipment or materials.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials safely.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites.
- Prior experience in concrete finishing or similar tasks is advantageous but not mandatory. Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
