We are looking to hire qualified and enthusiastic Personal Support Workers (PSW) for short-term job assignments in Long Term Care Homes in Shelburne, ON..
Job Type: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Wage rate range (_Hourly_): $20 - $27
Shifts: Days / Evenings / Nights
Qualifications:
- Personal Support Worker Certification / Degree / Diploma from Canada
- Valid CPR/BCLS
- Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Fully Vaccinated (3 doses of Covid-19 vaccination)
- Ability to fluently communicate in English (oral and written)
- Ability to comply with standard policies/ procedures and ensure safe work practices
- Knowledge and understanding of using basic computer applications (MS office suite)
Job Responsibilities:
- Providing services and support to residents
- Care for people and families during periods of illness or recovery.
- Provide bedside and personal care to clients and help them move, bathe, groom and get dressed and undressed.
- Plan and prepare meals.
- Teach new parents to care for an infant.
- Change non-sterile dressings and give oral medications as instructed by your home care agency or supervisor.
- Help with light housekeeping - for example, do laundry, wash dishes and make beds.
- Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of medical equipment by complying with manufacturer’s instructions
- Foster a positive, clean working environment that is conducive to team members, residents and family members
- Ability to effectively explain and convey the client or family needs to the medical team
- Perform ad hoc duties as assigned
