Our client, one of Canada's top employers and leaders in the retail industry- has an immediate opening for a Licensed Millwright -to join their Operations team. Reporting to the Industrial Engineering Department, this role is responsible for installation, preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment or components that support production and facility operations. The incumbent will also be responsible for managing the preventative maintenance plan and related upkeep.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment components using knowledge of standardized methods to keep manufacturing running efficiently.
- Maintain production equipment and machinery including motors, pumps, and air compressor systems.
- Move machinery, racking, and assist with Industrial Engineering activities as required.
- Perform preventative maintenance duties in accordance with the Total Preventative Maintenance schedule, including managing contractor service or repairs as needed.
- Perform welding and metal fabrication repairs on industrial equipment, conveyors, racks, and structural components to support maintenance operations.
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems and machinery while following safety and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Read blueprints and fabrication drawings to fabricate, modify, and install custom machine parts and steel components as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid 433A License Required
- Knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic equipment, relevant fabrication. Aptitude with machine and hand tools such as grinders, band saws, etc.
- Knowledge and capable of using a forklift.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
