Pigeon Café is opening in the Old Port! We're looking for an experienced, motivated, and hospitality-driven Assistant Manager to join our leadership team.
This is an exciting opportunity to help build a new restaurant from the ground up. We're looking for someone who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences while supporting and developing a strong team.

What You'll Do
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
- Lead, coach, and motivate front-of-house staff to deliver exceptional guest service.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and developing team members.
- Help create staff schedules and manage daily labour needs.
- Ensure the restaurant maintains high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and ensure every guest leaves with a positive experience.
- Monitor service standards and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to the team.
- Inventory management, ordering, and controlling operating costs.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety standards.
- Handle opening and closing procedures, cash reconciliation, and daily operational reporting.
- Work closely with the kitchen and management team to ensure smooth, efficient service during every shift.
- Step into operational roles as needed and lead by example during busy service periods.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a full-service restaurant.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- A passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.
- The ability to stay calm, organized, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and POS systems is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A positive attitude with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Knowledge of food safety and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
