Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety & Compliance Officer to oversee transportation safety programs and ensure full regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of federal and provincial transportation regulations, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure company compliance with all applicable federal and provincial transportation regulations
- Maintain accurate driver qualification files and safety records
- Monitor Hours of Service (HOS) compliance and electronic logging systems
- Conduct internal safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and safety violations; prepare detailed reports
- Develop, implement, and update company safety policies and procedures
- Coordinate driver safety training and orientation programs
- Ensure compliance with National Safety Code (NSC), Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE), Department of Transportation (DOT), and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, as applicable
- Track vehicle maintenance schedules and maintain compliance documentation
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities when required
Qualifications:
- Experience in transportation safety and regulatory compliance
- Strong knowledge of HOS regulations and electronic logging systems
- Excellent organizational and reporting skills
- Ability to conduct audits and investigations independently
- Strong communication and training facilitation skills
Pay: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
