What you will be doing:
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Specialist with strong hands-on experience in DevOps applications and platform management, cloud migration, and DevOps development, including CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Terraform, along with exposure to AIOps and application modernization initiatives. Our environment is primarily Google Cloud, and this role will lead efforts to build, optimize, and scale DevOps practices for Java-based applications. The Senior DevOps Specialist will be responsible for enhancing release automation and deployment capabilities across a diverse portfolio of enterprise Java applications, including source control management in Git, automated build and packaging through Jenkins pipelines, automated deployment and test execution, and the provisioning of cloud-based environments on Kubernetes across both Linux and Windows platforms. This role is primarily responsible for cloud migration, as well as the automation and ongoing maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and CI environments.
Is this role right for you? - In this role you will:
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in upgrading, maintaining, and troubleshooting DevOps toolsets such as Jira, Confluence, Crowd, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory, and GitHub Enterprise, ensuring high availability and system uptime.
- Apply AI capabilities to enhance developer productivity and improve engineering efficiency.
- Bring hands-on experience in migrating on-premises applications to SaaS environments.
- Provide end-to-end support and coaching for the DevOps application suite, including automation, high availability, and disaster recovery capabilities, serving more than 1,200 users across multiple domains, teams, and departments.
- Integrate security tools into CI/CD pipelines to enable SAST, SCA, code quality, and DAST scanning.
- Conduct product and tool evaluations to identify opportunities to enhance and extend platform capabilities.
- Apply DevOps best practices across Agile methodologies, security, and platform design.
- Provide subject matter expertise to stakeholders on DevOps solutions, industry best practices, and emerging trends.
- Maintain strong technical proficiency in programming languages, scripting, and operational processes to support ongoing innovation and technology advancement.
- Support users and teams in troubleshooting activities, ensuring timely investigation and resolution of application issues.
- Develop and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines as code to support stable, reliable, and scalable environments.
- Champion a customer-focused culture that strengthens client relationships and leverages the Bank’s broader systems, knowledge, and partnerships.
- Embed the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture into day-to-day activities and decision-making.
- Promote effective and efficient operations within the assigned area in accordance with Tangerine’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, while maintaining appropriate day-to-day business controls to meet obligations related to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- 5+ years of DevOps experience, with strong proficiency in CI/CD delivery models.
- University or college degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with industry best practice standards such as ITIL, DevOps, CMMI, and related frameworks.
- Strong background in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and automation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a strong commitment to team dynamics and the ability to contribute expertise while following leadership direction when appropriate.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Demonstrated competence in DevOps application administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and user support.
- Expertise in project and defect management tools such as Jira; documentation and collaboration tools such as Confluence and Slack; source code version control tools such as Git and GitHub; continuous integration tools such as Jenkins; artifact management tools such as Artifactory; and code quality and security tools such as SonarQube.
- Knowledge of enterprise application high availability, data center operations, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Hands-on expertise in scripting and automation languages such as Groovy, JavaScript, and Bash/Shell.
- Well versed in the software development lifecycle and object-oriented development methodologies.
