Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry arts, with experience in creating visually appealing and delicious desserts. Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards
- Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair using cake decorating techniques
- Ensure all food handling and safety protocols are strictly followed in compliance with health regulations
- Assist with food preparation tasks including ingredient measurement, mixing, and portioning
- Package baked goods for retail or catering purposes while maintaining presentation quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, including equipment sanitation
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new dessert menus and seasonal offerings
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about menu items and offering recommendations when needed
Experience
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role within a restaurant or bakery setting
- Strong skills in cake decorating, baking, food preparation, and food safety practices
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
- Experience in the food industry with an understanding of food handling regulations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with packaging techniques for retail or catering distribution is a plus
- Previous experience in customer service environments is advantageous
