Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Construction Laborer to join our remote, northern contracting team. This position is a fly-in, shift work position at a remote island lodge. This role involves assisting with various construction projects, supporting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring the safe and efficient completion of tasks on-site. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, safety-conscious, and eager to learn about the construction industry. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment while contributing to the successful completion of construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of construction sites, including unloading materials and setting up equipment
- Support skilled tradespeople in their daily tasks
- Perform general labour tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, and cleaning work areas
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment as needed
- Support site cleanup activities at the end of each workday
Requirements
- Experience with carpentry / framing is preferred
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Prior experience in construction or manual labour
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new skills
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Basic understanding of safety procedures on construction sites
- Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass any required background checks or drug screenings

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
