The ATW Trainer is responsible for delivering and maintaining high-quality training across ATW operational areas following SAMSIC training materials, ensuring full compliance with procedures, safety management system (SMS) principles, and IATA ISAGO standards.
The position ensures all ATW personnel are competent, certified, and equipped to perform duties safely and efficiently in alignment with customer airline requirements and regulatory expectations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Training Delivery & Assessment
- Conduct theoretical and practical training sessions for all assigned domains (passenger service) using approved SAMSIC materials.
- Facilitate recurrent, refresher, and initial training in compliance with regulatory and airline requirements.
- Conduct theoretical and practical assessments to validate staff competence and performance readiness.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in training delivery, reflecting current operational and safety procedures.
Training Material Management
- Use and maintain authorized training materials, forms, and tools as approved by the training and quality departments.
- Identify and report inaccuracies, outdated content, or improvement opportunities in training documentation.
- Participate in the development, standardization, and periodic update of training materials to reflect operational or regulatory changes.
- Contribute feedback to ensure harmonization between training content and station standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Training Administration
- Coordinate training schedules in collaboration with the Station Manager and Training Planner to meet operational and compliance needs.
- Maintain complete and accurate training records, including attendance, assessments, and certification data.
- Submit training documentation promptly to the Training Manager for validation and database entry.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring traceability and accessibility of all training-related evidence.
Operational Oversight & Continuous Improvement
- Actively observe operational activities in passenger service areas to identify skill or knowledge gaps.
- Provide on-the-spot coaching and corrective instruction to reinforce safety, service, and procedural compliance.
- Participate in incident or non-conformance reviews when training-related causes are suspected.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through regular communication with station management and safety teams
Qualifications:
Education & Certification
- Certified “Train the Trainer” (TTT) qualification or equivalent instructional certification.
- Authorized and current certification for the specific training courses delivered (e.g., Passenger Service, SMS Awareness, Dangerous Goods Awareness).
Experience & knowledge
- Minimum of 12 months of experience in training and/or operational supervision within passenger services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of IATA AHM, ISAGO standards, and local civil aviation regulations.
Skills & Attributes
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of safety, operational, and customer service standards.
- Ability to present to audience with an educational approach.
- Analytical mindset with attention to procedural detail and compliance.
- Ability to coach and mentor operational teams effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of maintaining electronic training records and reports.
