THE OPPORTUNITY
PeopleFind Inc. is recruiting an experienced Payroll Coordinator for a well-established employer located in the Newmarket - Aurora area.
This is a full-time, on-site opportunity for a payroll professional who takes pride in accuracy, confidentiality, organization, and meeting firm deadlines.
The successful candidate will coordinate the complete payroll process, maintain accurate employee records, respond to payroll-related inquiries, prepare required reports, and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable government requirements.

You have experience administering payroll from beginning to end.
You understand Canadian payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
You can work on-site in the Newmarket–Aurora area.

You are organized, dependable, and comfortable working with firm payroll deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate and process payroll accurately and on schedule.
Review employee hours, salaries, commissions, bonuses, vacation pay, deductions, taxable benefits, and other payroll information.
Verify payroll data and investigate discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, banking information, and benefit deductions.
Prepare Records of Employment and other payroll-related documentation.
Calculate statutory deductions, including income tax, Canada Pension Plan contributions, and Employment Insurance premiums.
Administer vacation balances, sick time, leaves of absence, and other employee entitlements.
Respond promptly and professionally to employee payroll questions.
Reconcile payroll reports and payroll-related general-ledger accounts.
Prepare payroll summaries, reports, and supporting documentation for management.
Assist with year-end payroll activities, including T4 preparation and reconciliation.
Support government remittances, audits, and reporting requirements.
Work closely with Finance and Human Resources to ensure that employee and payroll information is accurate and current.
Protect the confidentiality and integrity of all payroll and employee information.
Identify opportunities to strengthen payroll controls and improve administrative processes.
Provide additional accounting or administrative assistance as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least three years of hands-on payroll-processing experience.
Demonstrated experience managing a complete payroll cycle.
Good knowledge of Canadian payroll practices, employment standards, statutory deductions, and year-end requirements.
Payroll Compliance Professional designation, or progress toward the designation, is an asset.
Post-secondary education in payroll, accounting, business administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
Experience preparing Records of Employment and year-end payroll documentation.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience using payroll, HRIS, timekeeping, or accounting software.
Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
High standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You are a knowledgeable and dependable payroll professional who understands that employees rely on payroll being accurate and delivered on time.
You carefully verify your work, investigate inconsistencies, maintain orderly records, and communicate professionally when resolving payroll questions. You are comfortable working independently, but you also collaborate effectively with Finance, Human Resources, managers, and employees.
LOCATION AND WORK ARRANGEMENT
This position is located in the Newmarket–Aurora area and requires the successful candidate to work on-site .
Candidates should be able to commute reliably to the workplace.
