Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Draftsperson to support our design and construction teams by preparing accurate and high-quality technical drawings and working with 3D scan data. The ideal candidate will have experience with architectural drafting standards, strong CAD skills, and a solid understanding of construction methods and building codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare fabrication and installation drawings, including site plans, elevations, sections, and details.
- Use AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit to produce and revise technical drawings.
- Interpret and develop architectural design concepts from sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions.
- Revise drawings based on client feedback and engineering requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, installers, and CNC operators to ensure accuracy and constructability.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project specifications.
- Maintain organized drawing files and revision tracking.
- Assist with material takeoffs and quantity estimates as needed.
Qualifications:
- College, CEGEP, or non-university certificate/diploma in Architectural Drafting or related field (1-2 year program).
- Drafting (Architectural) Trade Certification is preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD (required) and Autodesk Revit (preferred).
- Strong understanding of architectural drafting standards and construction methods.
- Knowledge of building codes and construction materials, especially metal cladding systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in the metal fabrication or cladding industry is a strong asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
