Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting physiotherapists in delivering patient-centered care across various settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and pediatric facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and patient care procedures. Fluency in multiple languages, including French, is highly desirable to effectively serve diverse patient populations. Previous hospital or acute care experience is preferred to ensure seamless integration into our clinical environment.
Duties
- Assist physiotherapists in implementing treatment plans and therapy sessions for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and acute care cases
- Prepare treatment areas and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available and sanitized
- Support patients during exercises and mobility activities, ensuring proper technique and safety
- Maintain accurate case management records, documenting patient progress and treatment details using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care and provide education on therapy routines
- Manage scheduling of appointments and follow-up visits with strong time management skills
- Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions and report any concerns or adverse reactions promptly
- Assist with administrative tasks such as word processing, data entry, and organizing patient files while maintaining confidentiality
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating professionalism and empathy
- Exceptional time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
