Wood Buffalo Paving Ltd. is hiring for two Class 1 Driver positions for the upcoming season. We are looking for dependable, safety-focused drivers with strong equipment handling skills and experience working in construction environments. These are seasonal positions with the potential for returning opportunities next season.

About the Roles
Class 1 Driver – Heavy Haul
This position is for an experienced Class 1 driver with knowledge of hauling heavy equipment and operating with jeeps, boosters, live bottom trailers, and related hauling configurations. The ideal candidate is confident, safety-conscious, and understands proper securement, load planning, and transport procedures.
Class 1 Driver – Dump Truck / Equipment Hauling
This position is for an experienced Class 1 driver with experience operating dump trucks, towing equipment, pulling pup trailers, and hauling with live bottom trailers. The ideal candidate is reliable, versatile, and comfortable supporting a busy construction operation.
Key Responsibilities
Class 1 Driver – Heavy Haul
- Haul heavy equipment safely and efficiently to and from job sites
- Operate truck and trailer combinations including jeeps, boosters, and live bottom trailers
- Perform proper load securement and complete pre-trip inspections
- Plan loads and routes in accordance with safety and transport requirements
- Work with operations and field crews to support equipment moves
Class 1 Driver – Dump Truck / Equipment Hauling
- Operate dump truck and trailer combinations safely and efficiently
- Haul aggregate, asphalt, equipment, and related materials as required
- Tow equipment and operate with pup trailers, live bottom trailers, and similar setups
- Complete daily inspections and basic equipment care
- Support crews and project schedules with timely deliveries and transport
What We’re Looking For
- Valid Class 1 driver’s licence
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
- Reliable, professional, and able to work independently
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours when required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
Assets
- Experience hauling heavy equipment
- Experience with jeeps, boosters, lowbeds, live bottom trailers, and equipment trailers
- Experience operating dump trucks and pulling pup trailers
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Experience in road construction, paving, or civil construction
