Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Installer to join our renewable energy team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing solar photovoltaic systems on residential and commercial properties, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency throughout the process. Duties
- Install solar panels, mounting systems, and related electrical components according to project specifications and safety standards
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging gear to prepare sites for installation
- Use hand tools and power tools to assemble and secure solar components
- Perform electrical wiring and low-voltage connections in compliance with electrical codes
- Conduct site assessments to determine optimal placement and system design
- Assist with site preparation, including trenching and foundation work
- Ensure all installations meet quality standards and safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on schedule and within scope
Requirements
- Electrical experience or background in low-voltage wiring preferred
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, rigging, and safety equipment
- Ability to operate heavy equipment including low voltage systems
- Prior experience with solar or renewable energy installations is a plus but not required; training will be provided for specific tasks
- Valid driver's license required; ability to operate heavy machinery safely
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials safely
