Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Roofer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on residential and commercial buildings. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely at heights. Prior experience in roofing or related construction fields is preferred, along with a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Duties
- Install new roofing materials according to project specifications and safety standards
- Repair and replace damaged or worn roofing components
- Measure and cut roofing materials using hand tools and blueprint reading skills
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure waterproofing and insulation
- Use heavy lifting techniques to handle shingles, tiles, metal sheets, and other materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project plans
- Assist with general construction tasks such as carpentry, framing, or handyman repairs as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work site, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Perform inspections of completed work to ensure quality standards are met
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and measuring devices
- Experience in construction or carpentry work is highly desirable
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for waterproofing applications
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and working at heights on ladders or scaffolding
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to roofing projects
- Handyman experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility across various repair tasks
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
