ACME Education is currently seeking experienced AP Biology tutors to provide one-on-one and group instruction to students who plan to write the AP Biology exam. As an AP Biology tutor, you will provide individualized instruction and help them develop a deep understanding of this subject.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate for this position will have a degree in a related field, as well as at least 1 year of tutoring experience.
- You should have a strong understanding and solid professional knowledge of AP Biology concepts, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, creativity, and a commitment to ongoing professional development are also essential for success in this role.
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Teaching statistical concepts and methods: The tutor should be able to explain statistical concepts and methods in a clear and understandable manner, ensuring that the student understands the material.
- Providing guidance and support: The tutor should provide guidance and support to help the student master the material. This may include working through problems together, providing feedback on assignments, and answering questions.
- Developing lesson plans: The tutor should develop lesson plans that are tailored to the needs of the student. These lesson plans may be based on the AP Biology curriculum or may be customized to focus on specific areas where the student needs extra help.
- Assessing student progress: The tutor should assess the student's progress to determine areas where they need additional support. This may involve administering practice tests or quizzes, reviewing homework assignments, or providing feedback on written work.
- Providing exam preparation: The tutor should help the student prepare for the AP Biology exam. This may involve reviewing test-taking strategies, providing practice exams, and reviewing key concepts and formulas.
- Communicating with parents or guardians: The tutor may communicate with parents or guardians to provide updates on the student's progress and discuss any concerns or questions they may have.
- Maintaining records: The tutor should maintain accurate records of the student's progress, including notes on areas where the student needs additional support and documentation of completed assignments or practice tests.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $35.00-$80.00 per hour
