We are currently seeking a motivated and analytical Full-Time Junior Accountant to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a university graduate looking to gain foundational public practice experience and progress toward their CPA designation.
As a Junior Accountant, you will work closely with our senior team to manage full-cycle accounting, compliance, and financial reporting tasks for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will bridge the gap between day-to-day bookkeeping and year-end file preparation, gaining valuable, well-rounded exposure to public accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of year-end working paper files and financial statements for owner-managed businesses.
- Calculate, prepare, and file timely HST and payroll remittances.
- Prepare corporate and personal income tax filings.
- Complete accurate monthly and quarterly bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and trial balance adjustments for various client accounts.
- Support clients with accounting issues, and develop meaningful, trusted relationships within our team and community.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field with a specialization in Accounting.
- Enrollment in, or intent to pursue, the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) is highly preferred. We are happy to support your professional development.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency or hands-on experience with QuickBooks and Sage is required.
- Experience with Caseware and Taxprep is an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
- Previous co-op experience or placement within a public accounting firm is considered a significant asset.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
