Role Overview
The successful candidate will be an open-minded, flexible, energetic, hands-on finance professional who will leverage their strong accounting background while working in a progressive environment that offers continuous learning opportunities.
This is a changing environment, and your ability to excel in ambiguity will be critical. The team you'll join has a strong work ethic and is collaborative and supportive. The Controller oversees all accounting and reporting requirements. This position interfaces closely with all managers and senior management of Corebuild Construction.
Key Accountabilities
· Oversee full-cycle accounting operations including AP, AR, cash flow management, and monthly progress draws across multiple projects.
· Manage construction job costing, WIP reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
· Monitor project profitability, cost-to-complete, and change orders
· Oversee subcontractor billing, holdbacks/retainage, lien compliance, and vendor payments
· Partner with project managers and operations on financial performance and project controls
· Manage cash flow reporting on a weekly basis
· Lead accounting staff and improve financial processes and ERP systems
· Prepare Board meeting financial packages.
· Lead audit engagements and manage relationships with external auditors.
· Establish and maintain strong internal controls, standardizing processes and improving system compliance.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in Finance/Accounting and 5 years in a management role.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics and a CPA designation.
· Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to undertake research and translate complex information into useful insights.
· Knowledge of Jonas Accounting Software is an asset.
· Prior experience implementing procedures and tools for consolidated financial reporting is ideal.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Strong leadership and motivational skills to mentor and support the team.
· Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· A self-starter who can multitask in an efficient and controlled manner with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
· Team Player - Possesses good interpersonal skills with ability to work well with others.
$125,000-$145,000

Pay: $125,000.00-$145,000.00 per year
