Finance Professional 4, Business Evaluation

Annual salary: $ 131,100.00 - 165,800.00
What you'll do
The successful candidate will:
- Complete the Finance review of funding requests for projects and contract items that require executive approval.
- Work with the planning and delivery teams to strengthen or clarify the funding requests while striking the appropriate
balance between requesting changes to funding requests and leaving information “as is”.
- Complete Finance review memos for funding requests and contract items with an appropriate balance between timeliness,
comprehensiveness and accuracy. Complete the memos within an acceptable timeframe.
- Develop positive working relationships with planning and delivery teams and other areas of Finance.
- Maintain a record of all touch points, questions asked and answers received.
- Develop and review Net Present Value (NPV) models.
- Provide advice and guidance on accounting items with regards to capitalization.
- Provide guidance and direction across BC Hydro with respect to the funding request and contract review requirements
and process.
- Work with planning, project delivery teams and Regulatory to support or review regulatory filings / undertakings.
- Lead process improvement initiatives related to the funding request approval process.
- Hold presentation/training sessions on the funding request approval process and contract review process.
What you bring
The successful candidate will have:
- A university degree preferably in business administration, economics or engineering. A Finance/Accounting professional
designation or an Engineering professional designation.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a progressively more responsible role.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to identify key issues and summarize complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting expected timelines.
- Comfortable presenting to senior management and to large groups.
- Effective and advanced planning, organizational, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills as this role works with multiple groups within and outside of Finance.
