Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide essential assistance to individuals with disabilities. This role involves fostering independence, ensuring safety, and enhancing the quality of life for those we serve. The Support Worker will work closely with clients to support their daily needs in a respectful and empowering manner, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
Duties
- Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility support
- Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs, including medication administration under supervision
- Communicate effectively using various methods, including American Sign Language (ASL) when necessary
- Support participation in community activities and social engagement to promote independence
- Monitor and report on clients’ health status, behavior, and progress to supervisors or healthcare professionals
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and assisting with emergency situations when needed
- Provide caregiving support with patience, empathy, and respect for each individual's preferences and dignity
Qualifications
- Experience or training in special education or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of caregiving practices and medication administration is advantageous
- Ability to communicate effectively, including proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to supporting independence and well-being
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work flexible hours as needed
- Prior experience in caregiving or related fields is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates
Pay: $17.86-$29.35 per hour
