General Job Description
This role is responsible for leading the design, installation, and implementation of automated equipment and systems within the facility. This role combines mechanical design expertise with project management responsibilities, ensuring that all automation projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget. The successful candidate will support cross-functional teams, provide technical leadership, and contribute to the company’s continuous improvement in automation and operational performance.
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting wages of $28.12/hr
- Paid overtime after 40/hours per week
- Shift Premiums ranging from +$0.40 to +$0.65 (Afternoon Shift) & +$1.00 (Night Shift)

Abilities, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Lead for purchasing and installation of automated equipment.
- Mechanical Design of automated equipment using SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD.
- Responsible for all mechanical and electrical inspection documentation on new equipment.
- Maintain a documented weekly summary of completed work.
- Plan and maintain an overtime schedule for upcoming and uncompleted projects. This schedule will be reviewed and approved by management.
- Maintain a monthly work schedule of upcoming and uncompleted projects that will be shared with all departments.
- Provide technical advice & assistance to maintenance personnel, contractors etc.
- Assist in developing procedures and standards to control various project issues.
- Cost analysis and maintaining project budget.
- Project Scheduling.
- Negotiating project costs that may include equipment, materials and labour rates.
- Develop control strategies to increase plant automation.
- Prepare spare part recommendation lists for new equipment installs.
- Present factory automated solutions to management.
- Work in a safe manner and maintain 5S.
Education and Qualifications
- Mechanical engineering diploma/degree. Robotics and Automation diploma or equivalent training and experience.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 5 years of experience in a similar role. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Supervisory Responsibility
- Report any unsafe activities within the company to the machine group supervisor.
- Responsible for scheduling and supervise third party contractors during installation projects.
Language Skills
- English and able to communicate well with others.
- Ability to communicate with skilled trades at all levels of experience and management
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to exercise balanced judgment in evaluation situations and making decisions
