Location: ab.clinic (Alberta Bariatric and Lifestyle Clinic), Airdrie, Alberta

The Alberta Bariatric and Lifestyle Clinic uses an evidence-based approach to patients' health. Our multidisciplinary team includes general physicians with a specialty in lifestyle and obesity medicine, allied mental health professionals, sleep specialists, and exercise specialists. Our mission is to help as many people as possible gain independence from prescription medication, regain their physical health and lose weight.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking motivated, Physician Assistants to join our team
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive clinical care to Bariatric and Lifestyle adult patients, including health coaching, lifestyle management and complex chronic disease management.
- Conduct initial assessments, follow up appointments
- Initiate appropriate referrals to specialists and community resources.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Professional Development:
As professionals supervised by physicians, PAs are to follow all CPSA Standards of Practice and comply with CPSA continuing competence requirements. You will be responsible for maintaining continuing competencies through ongoing professional development including participation in education programs, research and continuous quality improvement activities and ab clinic will support you.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
- High level of perceptiveness and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centred care.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in a dynamic environment that requires flexibility and balancing of competing priorities
- Experience working in a team setting with other health professionals
Required Education and Experience:
- Graduation from a recognized Physician Assistant Education Program.
- Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) designation or certified Physician Assistant (c-PA) from the USA.
- Eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) (mandatory upon hiring).
- Current and clear criminal record check.
- BLS certification.
- We encourage applications from currently practicing PAs and PA students expecting to graduate by August 2026.
