About Us:
Howe Sound Marine is a locally owned marine service and repair facility dedicated to quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. We're looking for a reliable and motivated Shop Hand to support our team during the busy summer season.
Position Summary:
This is an entry-level, physically active role that involves working both inside the shop and outdoors. The Shop Hand supports the day-to-day operations by helping keep the facility clean, organized, and running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain the shop and yard areas
- Assist marine technicians with service-related tasks and cleanup
- Run parts between locations as needed
- Perform general labor and basic maintenance duties
- Run errands and support various departments
- Follow safety protocols and work efficiently as part of a team
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5 or equivalent)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to take direction
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and working on your feet all day
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Prior experience in a marine, automotive, or shop environment is an asset, but not required
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1hour for lunch)
- Occasional weekend work may be required
