Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostics, with experience working in dealership settings preferred. This role offers an opportunity to work on a variety of vehicle makes and models, utilizing advanced tools and techniques to ensure optimal vehicle performance. Candidates should possess excellent mechanical knowledge, customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of vehicles, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical systems
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs and maintenance tasks
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
- Assemble and disassemble vehicle components with precision using appropriate tools
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle serviced
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and timelines
- Assist in the training of junior technicians when necessary
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience, preferably within a dealership environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, schematics, and assembly techniques
- Experience with welding and heavy lifting required for certain repairs
- Knowledge of automotive repair standards and safety protocols
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a busy workshop setting
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is preferred
