Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Paver Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating paving equipment to ensure the efficient and precise installation of paving surfaces. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, construction processes, and safety protocols. The Paver Operator plays a vital part in delivering high-quality paving projects that meet client specifications and project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Operate paving machines to lay asphalt, concrete, or other paving materials according to project plans and specifications
- Assist with site preparation, including grading and setting forms for paving projects
- Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on paving equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Follow safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe work environment
- Support related tasks such as concrete forming, loader operation, excavator operation, and concrete finishing as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and report any issues or equipment malfunctions promptly
Requirements
- Experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly pavers, loaders, and excavators
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery and troubleshooting
- Background in construction, paving, or concrete work preferred
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus for transporting equipment or materials
- Ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently in various weather conditions
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and procedures
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently when required
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
