Child Support Worker
7-9 AM Monday - Friday.
2:30-5:30 or 6pm Monday - Friday
Available to assist the group of 12 to 24 children focusing on 1-2 children who require extra support.

- have experience supporting neurodiverse children or youth?
- have knowledge of positive behavioural support strategies and critical thinking skills?
- enjoy participating in the development and implementation of support care plans?
- enjoy creating a warm and supportive environment for children with diverse needs?
Block 8 Academy is a progressive daycare centre in Port Moody, for children 2.5 - 12 years of age. Our program includes fun community projects, art, music, homework help, and outdoor recreation time.
Candidates must meet the following requirements in order to be considered:
- ability to model language and effectively pair spoken words with appropriate visual supports to promote vocabulary development and language comprehension.
- ability to break tasks down into smaller chunks
- ability to model age appropriate positive social interactions.
- have experience working in a team environment with little supervision
- have experience with providing structure to an individual in care
- have specific education or extensive experience with behaviour management techniques
- have diplomas, certificates or other evidence of 20 hours of training related to child growth/development
- have a current First Aid certificate
- consent to a Criminal Record Check
- provide 3 professional / personal references

Experience:
- Child/Youth Support: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- First Aid and CPR C Certification (preferred)
