Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our construction and excavation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac trucks and various heavy equipment to perform excavation, utility location, and site preparation tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of construction site safety, mechanical systems, and heavy machinery operation. The Hydrovac Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and safe project completion while maintaining high standards of quality and safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Operate hydroVac trucks for excavation, daylighting, and utility locating projects with precision and safety.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of job sites, including positioning machinery and preparing work areas.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and equipment usage.
Skills
- Proven experience operating hydrovac equipment. Heavy Equipment operation experience an asset.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with hydrovac trucks and other machinery.
- Familiarity with commercial driving requirements related to operating hydrovac trucks on public roads.
- Knowledge of construction site safety standards and best practices.
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment maintenance routines.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and site supervisors.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different project requirements and work in various environmental conditions. Pay: From $30.00 per hour
