Job Overview
The Employment Coach works to support individuals to find and keep employment through targeted skill building and work exposure activities including job coaching. You will provide support to employers and workplaces through education, direct experience, and the provision of enhanced supports designed to inform and aide the creation of inclusive and accessible workplaces.
The Employment Coach will engage community-based supports and services (employers) as needed to identify meaningful work exposure activities and support participant on the job success with job coaching as needed.

Responsibilities
· Screen potential participants for readiness and suitability for the service
· Support employment development through guided employment preparedness training including activities such as structured learning opportunities, job skills development and career exploration
· Complete all relevant documents (screens, learning plans, etc.) and data collection as required by funder and CFASA for EW Service
· Assist with training of community-based employers under the supervision and direction of the Director
· Demonstrate understanding of principles of adult learning and job coaching related to employment
· Support participants to actively participate in the labour market and get jobs through targeted job search assistance, resume writing and interview skills building
· Balance the needs of the employer & employee to ensure a successful job experience
· Support participants with achieving employment goals, helping employers prepare for the inclusion of persons with disabilities into their workplace
· Provide a continuum of supports to employers to create accessible workplaces, facilitating the establishment of successful working relationships and promoting long term retention
· Contribute to the ongoing development of the employment components
· Prepare instructional materials as needed
· Provide administrative support as requested by Director
Qualifications:
· Proven experience in career coaching, recruiting, or related fields
· Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or similar combined education and experience
· 1 year of experience working with Autistic individuals
· Familiarity with online delivery methods
· Advanced computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software systems
· Familiarity with employment supports
· Familiarity with and the ability to implement adult learning principles
· Strong interpersonal communication skills
· Strong desire to work with Autistic adults and their support systems
· Able to work both independently and as part of a team
· Dependable with a strong work ethic
· Ability to adapt to change
· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
· Must have access to a reliable vehicle
· Clear Police Information check
· Clear Intervention Record check
· Valid Standard First Aid with CPR – Level C (or willingness to obtain)
Hours of work: Monday through Friday 7.5 hours per day and 37.5 hours per week with occasional weekends or evenings as needed
