Responsibilities
- Perform thorough foot assessments, identify risk factors, and develop individualized care plans according to evidence-based practices.
- Provide preventive care and treatment for foot conditions, including managing skin issues, trimming nails, addressing calluses, and treating ulcers and wounds.
- Implement strategies for pressure relief and offloading, particularly for high-risk patients.
- Educate patients on daily foot care, proper hygiene, and appropriate footwear, offering counselling and support to promote overall foot health.
- Follow strict infection control protocols and adhere to best practices for infection prevention, particularly when managing high-risk populations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records.
Qualifications
- Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Advanced and Diabetic Foot Care certificate is required
- Prior experience in foot care is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability to effectively manage time and priorities
- Ability to work independently and within a team
Pay: $27.00-$36.00 per hour
