Be part of a multi-disciplinary team and provide counselling to at-risk individuals and contribute to the development of ground-breaking intervention programs.
The Role
Shift BC’s is a program designed to counter violent extremism and hate-motivated violence in BC by addressing the root process of radicalization-to-violence at the individual (secondary) level. This is accomplished by redirecting participant’s trajectories, empowering them to pursue more pro-social behaviors, and increase their resiliency (i.e. ‘disengagement’).
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Must have a minimum of a PhD in Clinical Psychology and be registered (or in the process of being registered) within Canada or the College of Psychologists of British Columbia as a licenced professional.
- 1 or more years of experience in violence prevention, forensic mental health, trauma, or other high risk clinical settings.
- Valid Class 5 drivers license.
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Experience working with radicalization, extremism, and/or conspiracism.
- Experience working with perpetrators.

This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
Regular in-person attendance at client and other operational meetings in the Lower Mainland is required.
Some travel in province may be required.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
