We are seeking a passionate and dedicated ABA Behaviour Therapist to join our team at DLK Training and Consultation Inc.
Duration: 1 year contract
In this vital role, you will deliver evidence-based behavioral interventions to children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. Your energy and commitment will help foster meaningful progress, independence, and improved quality of life for your clients.
As a key member of our behavioral health team, you will work closely with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary professionals to implement personalized treatment plans rooted in applied behavior analysis (ABA). This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact while developing your skills in behavioral therapy and patient care.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized ABA therapy plans designed by licensed behavior analysts to promote skill acquisition and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Travel in person to family homes or in the community
- Collect, record, and analyze data on client behaviors during sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments.
- Conduct behavioral assessments overseen by the RBA (Registered Behaviour Analyst)
- Support clients with activities that enhance communication, social skills, daily living skills, and adaptive behaviors.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals to ensure consistency across environments and maximize therapeutic outcomes.
- Participate in intake assessments and contribute to the development of comprehensive treatment plans aligned with each client’s goals.
Requirements
- Prior experience in working with inidividuals diagnosed with autism, for a minimum of 1 year, is a requirement to apply for this position
- Strong understanding of working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Ability to collect detailed data during sessions and utilize it effectively for progress tracking.
- Strong communication skills for working collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities
- Ability to travel independently to family homes
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 10 per week
