The Opportunity
Are you looking for an exciting adventure in Canada’s North? We are hiring dedicated Booking & Guest Experience Staff to join our close-knit team in Yellowknife. In this multi-faceted role, you will be the main point of contact for tour inquiries, manage guest bookings, support daily logistics, and even step out under the Northern Lights as an Aurora Hunting tour guide!
Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties (Operations & Bookings):
- Respond promptly to guest inquiries via email, phone, messages, and WhatsApp.
- Manage online booking channels (XOLA, VIATOR) and update the master booking schedule on Google Drive.
- Coordinate travel agent bookings and payments with a focus on quick response times.
- Arrange hotel, restaurant, and winter clothing reservations for guest package tours.
- Schedule tour guides and drivers, track payroll hours, and maintain reliable backup coverage plans.
Secondary Duties (Guest Service & Support):
- Serve as a Tour Guide for night Aurora Hunting tours (approx. 9:00 PM – 2:00 AM).
- Assist with tour prep (hot chocolate, snacks, gear) and guest transfers (airport shuttle & winter clothing fittings).
- Assist with administrative tasks, media/photo distribution, and team projects during slower periods.
Qualifications & Skills
- Tech Savvy: Proficient with Google Drive and Microsoft Excel.
- Communication: Strong communication and customer service skills. Multi-lingual skills in Cantonese, Mandarin, Taiwanese, Japanese, or Korean are a major asset.
- Organization: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Physical & Environmental Capability: Comfortable working late evenings and in extreme cold weather environments.
- Team Player: Friendly, adaptable, respectful, and maintains high standards of professionalism.
Compensation & Perks
- Competitive Pay Structure:
- Training Period (First 120 hours / ~2 weeks): $20.00 / hour
- Post-Training Rate: $22.50 / hour
- Winter Increase (Starting Dec 1 for full-season staff): $25.00 / hour
- Statutory Holiday Pay: 1.5x regular pay rate.
- Holiday Pay: 4% paid every pay period.
- Winter Gear Included: High-quality Canada Goose winter clothing provided for winter staff.
- Travel Bonus: $250.00 Travel Bonus for winter staff (upon completion of contract).
- Discretionary Performance Bonuses awarded for exceptional dedication and professionalism.
- Staff Housing: Accommodation options available (terms apply).
*Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (valid work permit/visa required).
*Must be available to work from early August through April 15 of the following year.
