The Opportunity
This is a rare and high-impact opportunity for a driven, entrepreneurial leader to build and own the marketplace channel for 3 Newtimes Group brands — Robert Talbott, Ashworth Golf Company, and BIKE Athletic. As Marketplace Director, you will take full ownership of how the brands show up, sell, and grow across major digital marketplaces including Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, and beyond.
This is not a caretaker role. The marketplace channel is underdeveloped and full of upside. The right person will see a blank canvas — and paint something extraordinary. You will set the vision, build the infrastructure, cultivate the relationships, and execute with precision. The ceiling on this role is defined only by the ambition and initiative you bring to it.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Business Development
- Develop and own a comprehensive marketplace strategy across Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, and other key retail and digital partners
- Identify and evaluate new marketplace opportunities that align with brand positioning and revenue goals
- Set short- and long-term sales targets by channel and hold yourself accountable to them
- Conduct competitive analysis and stay current on marketplace trends, consumer behavior, and platform developments
Retailer Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact and relationship owner for all marketplace accounts
- Negotiate terms, placement, and promotional programs to maximize brand visibility and sell-through
- Build deep partnerships with buyers, merchant teams, and digital channel leads at each retailer
- Represent the Newtimes Group brands with credibility, professionalism, and a collaborative spirit
Marketing & Brand Presentation
- Develop and execute tailored marketing plans for each marketplace that drive traffic, conversion, and brand equity
- Partner with internal creative and marketing teams to ensure product content, imagery, and copy meet marketplace standards and best practices
- Champion seasonal campaigns, exclusives, and co-marketing programs with retail partners
- Ensure consistent and compelling brand storytelling across all marketplace touchpoints
Operations & Performance
- Own end-to-end operations for marketplace channels including assortment planning, inventory allocation, order management, and fulfillment compliance
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics including sell-through, return rates, margin, and share of shelf — and act decisively on the data
- Implement scalable processes and systems to support growth across multiple accounts and brands
- Work cross-functionally with merchandising, supply chain, finance, and brand teams to ensure seamless execution
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is equal parts strategist and operator — someone who can think big and execute relentlessly. You thrive in ambiguity, take ownership without being asked, and treat the business as if it were your own.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in wholesale, marketplace, or retail sales within the apparel, fashion, or lifestyle industry
- Proven track record of managing and growing accounts at major retailers such as Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, or Macy's
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in P&L management, margin analysis, and revenue forecasting
- Experience developing and executing marketing programs in partnership with retail accounts
- Experience in merchandising is a plus
- Excellent relationship-builder with the ability to influence at all levels — from buyers to executives
- Highly analytical; comfortable interpreting sell-through data, marketplace analytics, and retail reporting tools
- Self-directed and entrepreneurial — you don't wait to be told what to do
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with retail systems, EDI platforms, and marketplace portals
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA a plus
