Job Overview
Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to provide essential care and assistance to individuals with diverse mental health needs. This role involves supporting clients in various settings, at an assisted living facilities, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with disabilities, dementia, mental health, or those requiring other forms of care. Duties
- Assist clients with activities such as medication administration, to promote independence and well-being
- Support medication administration in accordance with healthcare plans and protocols
- Help with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients with special dietary needs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation and improve mental health outcomes
- Assist with light cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Monitor clients’ physical and emotional conditions, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals
- Aid in mobility and assist with heavy lifting when necessary to prevent injury
- Support patients during activities of daily living in assisted living or home care settings
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or home care is highly desirable
- Strong background in patient care, caregiving, or working with individuals with disabilities or dementia
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols
- Ability to perform lifting safely and assist with mobility support when needed
- Excellent communication skills for engaging empathetically with clients and team members
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion and professionalism
- Basic skills in cleaning and meal preparation are beneficial for maintaining a safe environment
- Experience in nursing or caregiving roles that involve assisting seniors or individuals with complex health needs is preferred
**Shift Schedule**
Please note, this is a weekend position - Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Shift Schedule: Employees in this role are required to work Friday through Sunday and remain onsite overnight to fulfill 16+ hour shifts.
Pay-rate
Compensation ranges from $22–$25 per hour, depending on relevant experience. During overnight sleep/rest periods, compensation will be paid at the applicable minimum wage rate.
