JNB Heavy Hauls is hiring a full-time Pilot Car / Escort Driver to support the safe movement of over-dimensional loads across Canada and cross-border into the U.S.
This position is best suited for individuals who are reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable spending extended time on the road.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a company-issued pilot vehicle with required safety equipment (lights, flags, signage)
- Escort heavy haul trucks in lead and/or chase positions
- Maintain constant communication with drivers using 2-way radio
- Identify and communicate hazards such as low clearances, construction zones, narrow roads, and traffic issues
- Assist with loading, unloading, and securement of freight as required
- Work closely with truck drivers and other team members in a team-oriented environment
Mandatory Requirements (Please Apply Only If You Meet All):
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Valid Class G license or higher
- Eligible to cross the Canada/U.S. border (no restrictions)
- Able to pass a drug test
- Willing to be away from home for extended periods
- Strong situational awareness and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible, irregular hours (including early mornings, evenings, and weekends)
- Physically capable of assisting with securement and job site tasks
Assets (Not Required):
- Previous pilot car / escort experience
- Trucking or heavy haul industry experience
- Knowledge of oversized load regulations
