What You’ll Be Doing:
Reporting to senior management, you’ll be a key player in keeping our farm operation running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing day-to-day farm operations and managing staff alongside senior leadership
- Promoting and enforcing safe work practices
- Leading by example to maintain top-tier quality, cleanliness & sanitation
- Monitoring potato storage and inventory with the Agronomist
- Recommending improvements using best practices and modern ag tech
- Providing daily and seasonal feedback to farm staff
- Monitoring crops for pests, weeds, and disease (in collaboration with the Agronomist)
- Keeping detailed and accurate records of crop and farm performance
- Coordinating and supervising operators, truck drivers, and general labourers
- Operating farm equipment as needed
- Conducting regular crop inspections & quality control
- Representing our company in a professional and positive manner
- Supporting various hands-on farm activities as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Post-secondary education in Agriculture or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on farming experience (required)
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
- Excellent attention to detail and multitasking ability
- Experience with potato production is a strong asset
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours during peak seasons
- Strong work ethic and a proactive, can-do attitude
- Ability to keep accurate records and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with team members and partners
- Skilled in managing priorities and working efficiently under pressure
