Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Driver / Shipping & Receiving Assistant to join our warehouse team. This role involves operating forklifts and reach trucks, managing shipping and receiving processes, and supporting order fulfillment activities. The ideal candidate will have warehouse experience, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and a strong understanding of logistics operations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to efficient warehouse distribution while ensuring accurate order processing and timely deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other warehouse equipment to load, unload, and transport goods.
- Manage shipping and receiving activities, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP, and AS400 to track inventory levels, process orders, and update records.
- Assist with order picking, packing, and packaging to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Support warehouse distribution operations by organizing stock and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Coordinate with the team to ensure timely loading and unloading of trucks while adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform basic math calculations related to inventory counts, measurements, and order quantities.
- Maintain accurate documentation for shipments and receipts, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred, especially in shipping & receiving or order fulfillment roles.
- Experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, or other industrial equipment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP software, or AS400 is a plus.
- Knowledge of warehouse distribution processes, packaging techniques, and order picking procedures is beneficial.
- Basic math skills are required for inventory counts and measurements.
- Candidates should have a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate warehouse vehicles safely.
