Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Guitar Instructor to join our educational team at Musicworks Canada St. Albert. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music instruction, with the ability to teach students of various ages and skill levels. This role offers an opportunity to inspire and develop students’ musical talents in a supportive and engaging environment. The Guitar Instructor will be responsible for creating customized lesson plans, lesson reporting, fostering a positive learning atmosphere, and encouraging students’ growth in their musical journey.
Duties
- Conduct individual and group guitar lessons tailored to students’ skill levels and learning goals
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate fundamental guitar techniques, music theory, and performance skills
- Assess students’ progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to promote improvement
- Create a welcoming environment that encourages creativity, confidence, and a love for music
- Maintain organized records of student attendance, progress, and lesson plans
- Collaborate with the front staff to discuss student development when applicable
- Incorporate age-appropriate teaching methods, especially when working with children or early learners
- Assist in organizing recitals, performances, or student showcases to motivate learners
Experience
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching guitar to students of diverse ages and backgrounds
- Prior classroom experience or background in early childhood education is highly desirable
- Experience working with children is preferred, demonstrating patience and adaptability
- Skills in working with children, including understanding developmental stages and creating engaging lessons
- Additional skills such as cooking or classroom management are considered a plus but are not required

Pay: $17.00-$30.00 per hour
