CTK Bio is an innovative Canadian cleantech company on a mission to turn wasted by-products into something extraordinary! We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Scientist to join our growing R&D team. In this role, you will contribute to research and development projects, perform product quality assurance, and support material testing and formulation development.
The ideal candidate is passionate about sustainability and advanced materials and has strong hands-on laboratory experience, particularly working with polymers and resins.
Key Responsibilities
R&D Execution
· Conduct laboratory experiments, material testing, and detailed data analysis to support product development.
Material Characterization
· Perform material characterization and resin testing using analytical techniques such as TGA, DSC, and FTIR, along with mechanical property testing.
Quality Control
· Conduct QA/QC testing of raw materials and finished products to ensure consistency and performance standards.
Problem Solving
· Identify and troubleshoot technical challenges, developing practical and innovative solutions related to bio-based resins and materials.
Project Support
· Support the design, execution, and documentation of R&D projects in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Qualifications
Education
· Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
· Minimum 1 year of relevant research, development, or product design experience.
Technical Skills
· Proficiency in wet lab chemistry, bench-scale experiments, and analytical instrumentation.
Specialization
· Background in polymers, biomaterials, or resin development is strongly preferred.

- A strong ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Candidates are required to be legally eligible to work for full-time-based employment in Canada.
