Sleep Technologist – Calgary, AB
The successful applicant will be provided with a variety of dynamic learning opportunities in order to advance your knowledge in the field.
Hours: Part-time (7- 14 hours a week)
Responsibilities include the following:
- Involves direct patient contact by assisting with Ambulatory Sleep Testing (Level 3 and Level 4 testing) and CPAP machine set up
- Describing different procedures and addressing questions
- Provide clients with instructions of use and cleaning of their equipment
- Ensures the proper performance relating to the accurate and safe operation of Sleep study and CPAP equipment
- Collaborate care with Sleep Physician and/or Sleep Lab Manager
- Document patient encounter in EMR system
- Resolving technical or equipment issues and follow up on patient care concerns
- Assist with other clinic operations including, but not limited to: answering patient inquiry, greeting clients, booking appointments, assisting with insurance claims, billing and processing of payment for services not covered by Alberta Health
Requirements:
- College diploma or University degree with a medical focus or relevant work experience;
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage a fast-paced environment
- Action oriented, team player with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good knowledge of Obstructive Sleep Apnea and CPAP therapy is an asset
- Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook
- Familiarity with Infection Control Practices
- Knowledge in OSCAR/Juno EMR system preferred
- Knowledge in Quickbooks an asset
