Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, maintain high standards of food safety, and support the kitchen staff in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
This role will begin immediately on a part-time, on-call basis and will provide support for our busy catering operations and special events.
This position will play an important role during the PNE Fair (August 22 – September 7), with the opportunity to transition into a full-time, permanent position for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to recipes and standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Support the cooking team during busy periods by preparing components of meals efficiently
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Assist with dish plating and presentation when required
- Adhere to all food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure quality standards are met
Skills
- Experience in serving, food preparation, or cooking within a restaurant or food industry setting is preferred
- Knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation practices
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food service procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment under pressure
- Basic knowledge of food safety regulations and standards
- Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level candidates

Pay: $17.85-$24.66 per hour
